In the VA as of today we have 542 Nurse openings within their organization itself. These positions are open in various fields of specialization. The Nurse problem shortage needs to be addressed immediately.

There are a number of things the Government can do to ease this situation, the most important being to create and easy, fast and ongoing Immigration Program for Nurses. It is a well known fact that there significant number of nurses available in many countries, who are ready to come to the US at this very moment. These nurses are all qualified and have the necessary Licensure and Documentation to come and work in this great country of ours.

The Federal Government can set a Fast Track Program for these nurses to come here and be of use to us. This means a revamp of the Immigration Progress to reduce the time it takes for the Paperwork/Visa from the current 18 or so months to say 2 – 3 months, like in Canada
